Sheet music

This sheet music is the centrefold of a collection of Irish Tin whistle legends by Tommy Walsh which I purchased at Blanks Music Shop ( Kilburn High Road, NW6) for £5.95 (says the price sticker on the cover) circa. 1990.

I obviously took an early liking to The Ballydesmond Polka; I can tell because I needed to write out the notes to play! And only for the first part!

O the britches full of stitches is a fun tune.

These days I play both parts.

After 30 years, and in an attempt to vary my repertoire I have started to play Garrett’s Wedding, a slip jig, something which I have feared for far too long. I’m managing to make sense of the first part and it’s a jaunty number, the higher second part is still a work in progress.
