Chilly

It was minus 10C when I got up this morning. In fact at midday it’s still minus 6. The coldest frosts we’ve had here for a long time. All those silly flowers trying to bloom a week or two ago have shrivelled up and died.
I put out some mealworms for a robin which was hanging around looking hopeful. It seemed to appreciate them. In the extra is the same robin eating lichen which is growing on the edge of the wooden gazebo in the garden.  I’m not sure if they normally eat that or whether in the freezing cold it’ll eat anything that’s going.
