This birch leaf......

......will shortly be falling and landing on the snow. It seems that silver birches are late shedders. Their leaves hang on while they can. My daughter rang unexpectedly a while ago. Not because there was any crisis, but just because she was out for a walk in the sunshine and fancied a blether. I came off the phone about an hour later and immediately played my song with a more urgent synchopated rhythm.
