West from Binscarth

The snow has disappeared already from Kirkwall so I went Finstown and walked though Binscarth Wood, hoping there would be more there. It was pretty patchy. In the distance, the hills of Hoy were well-covered. In Binscarth wood were goldcrests, blackbirds, redwings, a buzzard, two ravens, and a woodcock. On the Loch of Wasdale there were six whooper swans.
