Market & Manger

A very cold night last night and the frost lingered long into the day. We had to go into Bantry in the afternoon and had a quick look around the market first. The crib has arrived, carol signers were abounding and the store holders were braving the elements. I had a very successful purchase of three  rugs - two largish made of cotton/sisal and one rag rug, replacing some old ones that re looking very threadbare. I resisted the Sacred Heart - see extra, there's a lot going on in that pic.

I stopped off for a coffee in the craft shop and it was packed so I had to perch on a sofa next to another woman,  First we chatted about the weather and then she revealed she worked at the Buddhist retreat on the Beara. The conversation suddenly turned a bit profound, we covered a lot of ground in 10 minutes. Funny how that can sometimes happen.

We went on to the solicitor who had checked through our citizenship application. Two very efficient women stamped and signed everything. We just need to bring in our old passports to add to the pile and then we are good to go!

Now relaxing, fire lit and baked spuds in the oven which I better go and attend to.
