Just cooling off a bit!

Spotted these two gulls on top of the roof of our neighbour to the back of us. Most rooves have lost much of the snow and ice now, although it's still thick and treacherous on the side roads and pavements, but this house looks like they've never had the heating on! I think that maybe they have converted the attic and the roof is heavily insulated.
Anyway, back to the gulls. I thought they were Terns at first, because of the small size and the sharp beaks. On investigation they appear to be 'Bonaparte's Gulls', identifiable by the tern-like beak, the black spot on the side of the head and the colour on the back and black on the tail.
They were really quite cute, and at one time they were both snuggled down into the frosted snow on the roof apex. When I came out, with a proper camera for a change, the one on the right stood up but didn't move any further.
Lots of Redwings around too. 'Things Beautiful' posted an entry with a Redwing recently and Ian, my friend, came around a couple of days ago and spotted redwings in the garden. They were back in force today but out the front. I've put an extra, taken with my phone so poor photo. One is in flight, to the left, after eating the Pyracantha berries and another, at the end of the hedge about 1/3 up, shows the distinctive markings around the eyes. P.S. (Edit note) I've just looked again and there is another taking to flight on the ground near the bottom of the hedge. You can see the red under the wing, and a bit of the eye markings. I thought it was a dead leaf at first!
Must be far too cold for them further North, or in Scandinavia, so they've migrated to the tropical climes of Gloucestershire! Only -3 today, and set for double figures (about 11c) on Sunday, but wet and windy.
