A new visitor

This was definitely not a usual bird visitor to the garden. Perhaps the snow had encouraged him to somewhere new. I think from looking online it may be a Snipe??? 
Very heavy snow when I got up and for most of the morning. At lunch decided to dig the car out just on case I need it. The extra is before and after. It's stayed to rain as the day has progressed and now is snow and ice in equal measures. Neighbour brought some salt across for me. Think he remembers only too well the day I fell and broke my hip at the end of the drive!!
