Pam's Cove

A large group of us hit the river early to officially dedicate Pam's Cove.  Good friend to the Silver River State Park, she lead the River Patrol for years, and racked up so many volunteer hours she received a special accommodation from the state.  One of the coves/springs near the headwaters didn't have an official name on the map, so...now its Pam's Cove.  Next year when the new maps are printed, her name will be on it.  No permanent signage on the river is allowed. Pam's family was on the school boat along with a few other friends.  The rest of us were in kayaks.  It was a wonderful tribute...Pam's last ride.  She pasted away in Oct.
The collage is a few of the regulars on the river.  I stayed out about 6 hours after the dedication, it was such a fine day.  The convict caterpillars were a great find, feasting on Spider Lily leaves.  They become the beautiful Spanish Moth.
