Serengeti?? No...Bosque!!

As I was editing this shot, I was amazed at how much it reminded me of the Serengeti. Of course, it's not. ..it's the Bosque (a wooded area that runs along the banks of the Rio Grande River.) The verdant greens, the vibrant golds...the only thing lacking is a lioness chasing a gazelle across the opening.

Next time you think of the high desert, and all that comes to mind are thoughts of brown, dried-up bushes and rocks...take another look at this shot and know the kind of beauty we here in Albuquerque are surrounded by year round. BUT DON'T TELL ANYBODY!! We're trying to keep that OUR secret!! ;-)
