Our Openreach Engineer arrived this morning and what a star. She phoned ahead to let us know that she was on her way and an approximate time of arrival (they don't all do that). When she arrived, she very quickly sorted out what the problem was - some dodgy leads in the white box - replaced the white box with a completely new one, rewired it, tested it, got us to test it . . . and that was that. We are back online. She was a delight - she chatted, explained what she was doing, showed us how to do our own diagnosis in future - really helpful. And so happy in her work. I'm just glad she didn't have to climb the poles as it is wild here now. 

This experience has taught us a few things - we really appreciate having the fast wifi and will never take it for granted again, but we do know we can manage without it if need be. We can still watch TV, play music, listen to the radio etc. We are not dependent on 'being online' and hope to remain that way. 

So now some Blip catching up to do.
