Nothing happens here...

The shortest day

A walk along to the village and posted a few straggler cards which I'm sure will not get to their destination for Christmas.  Drat.

Our postman today dropped us a card sent from 20 miles away on December 11th.  Thank you Post Office, anyone would think they weren't prepared for these well publicised events?

The box in the Blip is a small 1881 wall box, probably made by WT Allen.  Wall boxes first appeared in 1857.  They used to carry the words 'POST OFFICE' across the hood but this has been removed to fit a modified aperture to allow later period standard sized posted materiel.
