Horror

Last week a house in our son's village caught fire in the night. The house was destroyed, and the couple who lived there died. They had lived in the village for many years, and were well liked, even loved, as indicated by the heartfelt tributes left at the scene (see extra).

The neighbouring houses were temporarily evacuated, but appear to have suffered no serious damage. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
