Dunnock

At least, I think it's a dunnock.  I heard a very sweet call that I didn't recognise in the garden this afternoon.  It took me some time to locate the source and this was he.  Research using NZ Birds Online leads me to believe it probably is a dunnock.......sparrow-sized, more neutral in colouring than a sparrow, distinctive song [this song is the c[url=https://nzbirdsonline.org.nz/species/dunnock#]ontact calls of birds going to roost[/url].  Maybe he's chirping "Where are you all?"!]  Looking closely at this one I think it may be a juvenile.  Nice to see something new in the garden :D
