Grasmoor

The day looked as if it would be bright, but this is the Lake District.  I had decided to take views in winter and headed from Cockermouth to Buttermere and returning via Newlands Pass.  It was quiet in the Lakes compared to the A66.  You would have seen this Fell before, but not yesterday as it was covered in low cloud..  There were no cars in the national Trust carpark and very few using the Pass either.  At one stage I was the only person at the top being blown by the wind.  Nevertheless, I took the photos I wanted, returned to the car and proceeded to Braithwaite, the village at the bottom of Newlands and back home along the A66.  A successful couple of hours-nice and 'fresh!'  Thank goodness for a car heater.  The extra shows the Newlands Valley from the top near Moss Force waterfall, with Blencathra (locally known as Saddleback) in the background
