We've got lots!

I think the House Sparrow is a rather smart looking bird. This is the male with the grey head. I hadn't noticed before the flashes of white on the feathers at each side.

Apparently the House Sparrow is in severe decline in the UK. The RSPB have given them Red Status, which is the highest conservation priority, for a species needing urgent action. They seem to have disappeared from towns and cities and one reason that has been given is that noise could stop adults hearing the hunger calls from their dependent offspring.

Anyway we have plenty in our garden at the moment and I suppose it is rather quiet here.

Today our daughter completed her first Triathlon and did very well. She has been training for a long while and was pleased with how she did.
