Balbirnie House

In the morning cyclops and CyclopsJnr went to the barber to have a professional deal with their hair rather than the second rate MrsCyclops with her clippers.

CyclopsJnr then reported his sore ear was wet inside, and the soreness went up a notch, but thanks NHS we saw a GP after lunch who diagnosed an ear infection and perforated eardrum. Alas the chemist was out of the prescribed antibiotics, but they were super helpful about potential alternatives and solutions and it turned out they could give us several days of the same meds in capsule form (instead of the kiddie version) so we took that because CyclopsJnr is fine to swallow tablets. We have to go back to collect more of these on Christmas Eve.

CyclopsJnr was ok on ibuprofen and wanted to proceed with Plan A, so off we went to Fife for a night at Balbirnie House Hotel where parents Cyclops got married 17 years ago. We played some Qwirkle and Carcassonne over a hot chocolate, then went out for CyclopsJnr to have a Happy Meal as the big ones would be having the hotel tasting menu later. As usual this arrangement was considered a treat by both parties!

With two doses of antibiotics in him CyclopsJnr was MUCH improved by the end of the day.
