What a send off!

Every year in Camogli there's the Sagra del Pesce where tonnes of fish are cooked in an oversized frying pan (for more info see here http://www.prolococamogli.it/).

However, I've still never been to it. I prefer to go the night before when they have a massive fireworks display and then burn two giant effigies on the beach. This year it was the Eiffel Tower and a giant Lego sailor (that's a telescope he's carrying, not a giant joint).

Here you can see him just before midnight still standing tall. Once the flames took hold though he was gone in a matter of minutes. If you ever happen to be in the region at this time of year it's definitely worth checking out the festival. It's pretty awesome.
