A day amongst WAR critics

Nothing to do with people denouncing conflict! WAR stands for Wales Arts Review, an on-line publication to which I contribute reviews of this and that from time to time.

We met in this imposing building which is part of the University of South Wales, in Caerleon. You can see the Welsh dragon flying from the clocktower. It was built in 1912 and was originally a teachers' training college. The campus was ravaged by fire in 1992 but the clocktower building survived, so is the one old(ish) building on the site. From the centre of Newport the clocktower stands out on the horizon - until today I had no idea what it was.

We had interesting discussions today - I popped out at lunchtime to take a few pics in the drizzly rain.
