Sunday morning snow

While it's nice to see snowy settings and Christmas cards, the iciness tends to disrupt flights back to warmer climes.  Luckily, we managed to escape in the early aft,ernoon but by that evening, various airports had closed again; Manchester, Midlands and London, with news reports featuring resigned expressions (again...) on travellers' faces.
