Window Into My World

Steve Diggle

We were lucky enough to be able to go and watch an excellent performance from Steve Diggle at the Factory club in Manchester. It had been fairly short notice in terms of publicity, which may have accounted for the small audience, but nevertheless, it lacked nothing in terms of quality. It was a great experience to hear how both his solo and Buzzcocks songs translated acoustically, plus we were treated to a piano version of Sick City Sometimes. Steve was good enough to chat with us all afterwards, and certainly it seemed that everyone there had enjoyed it equally, and genuinely cherished the opportunity to see him play live.

A truly lovely man.

Strange to see a big change in the Oxford Road landscape - the BBC building has been demolished, leaving the land to be currently used as a car park. I have fond memories of going to see the Oxford Road Show (a music programme in the 80s) there. It also means that you can now see the Factory club from Oxford Road and vice versa. New viewpoints in a constantly changing landscape.
