Caring For The Carers

The QSM and her 2 carers were here today for our annual lunch.

I made my 3 cheese sauce and then threw in macaroni, broccoli, caulifower and some peas.  That goes in the oven until it gets a crusty top.  Served with salad.  Possibly my best ever sauce - Bergkäse, Cheddar and Emmental.

I like the process of making cheese sauce.  Make a roux, cook it out, and slowly add milk, never stop stirring until you have a silky and shiny sauce.  Add your cheese(s) and voilá, it melts and you have a pot of joy.  I'm pretty sure this one could have been the centre of a fondue.

As it was my little creation was attacked and devoured with vigour.  As a cook that is quite gratifying.  No-one left the table hungry.
