A country churchyard

After two days indoors, I was getting cabin fever, so S and I went out for a short walk this afternoon. It was rather chilly, so we didn’t go far. Here’s the churchyard, slightly fartnarkled. I liked the light on the yew tree.

S and I took responsibility for food today, but there were plenty of leftovers, so it wasn’t a challenge. A hearty soup for lunch, with turkey stock and leftover vegetables, followed by the last of the trifle. And pigs in blankets followed by pulled and devilled turkey in the evening. A favourite for using leftover chicken or turkey. Can’t do links on the iPad but here it is: http://neilcooksgrigson.blogspot.com/2011/06/298-pulled-and-devilled-turkey-chicken.html

I was going to make ceridwen’s apple and mincemeat jalousie: https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3721785 But the shops were clean out of puff pastry. Couldn’t be bothered to make any, so apple and mincemeat crumble it was, served with brandy sauce.

And soon … The Detectorists! We are all so excited!
