Peas

Picking the first ones from the garden. Although they were planted late, after we returned from our holiday, they are ready about the same time as any other year. Today is my birthday and I can distinctly remember picking the first peas, on my birthday, from my father's vegetable garden  way back in the 1960's. They were lovely days. We didn't particularly care that we struggled for money because nearly everyone that we associated with was in the same situation. People were happy and crime was hardly ever heard of.
