Gourock Pierhead

Another wintry day with showers, and the odd break of sunshine.

I like this view looking towards Gourock Pierhead from Cardwell Bay, with the dramatic sky, and St John's Church dominating the skyline.

The boat sitting at the pier is the controversial Argyll Flyer, operated by Argyll Ferries. The company operates a two-boat shuttle passenger ferry service between Gourock and Dunoon. Due to the regular cancellations on this service there has been a lot of debate and discussion in the press whether these vessels are fit for the job.
