Anders...

.... from the Nordic Fiddlers Bloc, and very good he was too! It was meant to be the open air concert today, scenically taking place in a grassy amphitheatre, as part of Baltimore Fiddle Fair. Wrong, drizzle and winds made us retreat inside to the marquee where we enjoyed a roistering session from the Bloc - Anders from Sweden, Kevin from the Shetlands and Olav from Norway. Their playing was amazing and the craic was mighty - I thought Anders looked like a fiddling pirate, quite apt for Baltimore, where half the population were carried off by pirates in the 17c! Algerian though not Swedish.

We thought it was all over when they'd finished their set but no, next up came the rather wonderfully named Colm mac con Iomaire, intense, lyrical and a superb musican.

A plate of chips and tuna for Himself and TJ, yes she was there too, and chips and salad for me and warmth was restored. The festival is now being rounded off by Capercaille, wouldn't minded have seeing them either!
