Out in the air

As it was the weekend, we waited hours to speak to a doctor. Eventually we were told that a decision about discharge would be made following the doctors' round on Monday if ongoing monitoring did not reveal any further issues. We were reminded that it can take weeks or months to recover fully from pneumonia.

P came as planned, though not, of course, to take us home. The three of us went to the park for a while, as we had the day J was admitted three weeks before. It was very hot, and both local residents and hospital patients were enjoying the park. I enjoyed photographing it: my favourite was this picture of relaxation in the sun, with a huge bank of cow parsley beyond. Everything was very dry, with many of the trees shedding leaves and clearly suffering from the drought. It was lovely to be out in the air together, watching the squirrels and moorhens, so much more relaxed than sitting in the hospital room.
