Snow Sculpture

Thank goodness the biting wind of the last two days subsided and the sun came out for Xmas day. Still very cold though. The wind had deposited what little snow we had in heaps along the shore amongst the reeds.

There were a few interesting shapes to photograph, although they were difficult to get at and frame. I found this one the most appealing, I think because of the leading line and overhanging piles of snow.

Extra: Stifled Gasps. The ice was translucent such that I could see the rising bubbles frozen in place, as if the sudden drop in temperature had stifled the lake bed's normal exhalation. Before now I've only seen bubbles on the surface.
