Into the hills.

As the trees planted under the Thatcher  / Lawson forest tax relief scheme  of 1988 mature (and it was far from being  an unmixed blessing either for landscape or for the quality of the work done) harvesting becomes more and more obvious.   New tracks are needed to get into the hills , and  inevitably some are better made and less intrusive than others.

Even though the work is intensive there is a lull at this time of year, and these bits of equipment - still for a few days -  caught my eye just off the road to Colintraive this morning.
