St Ives

View of Porthmeor Beach through the portico of Tate St Ives, and, yes, there are a couple of people in the sea. We went to see again the Barbara Hepworth exhibition that we saw in Edinburgh in June. Strangely it wasn’t as well presented here. It seemed rather clinical and cluttered in Tate’s white cube, whereas it was breathtaking in the wonderful sunlit spaces of Modern Two. And it wasn’t because St Ives wasn’t sunlit, see first extra of the harbour at low tide and second extra of Porthmeor with the waves rolling in off the Atlantic. We were surprised that St Ives was nearly as crowded as Summer, but everyone was eating Cornish pasties rather than ice cream.
