Flaming the cock

Much kitchen activity took place today. One of the two young cockerels who popped their clogs a few days ago formed the centrepiece of a fine supper when prepared by Huw, seen here flambéing the jointed carcase of Yellow Leg, my least favourite bird. Following a brief life of rape and pillage he proved much more appealing au vin.

In the lower left (flambé pieces) note the yellow mortar identical to the one that appears in Chaiselongue's blip today! I've had it for years but can't recall its provenance.
Lower right is the completed dish a la table. Thanks to cook and cock for a memorable meal.

Huw is off on holiday to Jordan tomorrow so we can expect some interesting blips in his journal.
