Growing in Christmas

We have one or too "Amaryllises" every Christmas. Mostly red, sometimes white.

In fact and presumably this is not Amaryllis, but Hippeastrum. The common name amaryllis is mainly used for cultivars of this genus, Hippeastrum, often sold as indoor flowering bulbs particularly at Christmas in the northern hemisphere.

Now just waiting for the flowers to open.
