Land of the Lost

First up, a very enjoyable trip out to Balerno to see SheShe. She’s in sparkling form and offers us up fruit cake and an endless stream of amusing anecdotes about living in the land of the old. She’s amazingly lucky. All her wits still there and fit enough to jump in her little car and get about the place. I think I’ve been dwelling too much on this sort of stuff of late. Fate. Que sera, sera.
Or was that after the next port of call as the SK’s aunt has been shipped into a care home for two weeks respite care. Well, for starters. We visit her in her room from where you can glimpse her old flat. She’s well enough, and well cared for though mentions that most of the people in the "hotel" are a bit gaga. We’re not quite sure if she was plonked in the gaga wing as she’s only in there temporarily or if she was assessed as sufficiently gaga to join that lost and bewildered crowd. Gawd, it’s terrifying. Save us all.
Later, a binge of festive TV. Even Frankie Boyle was (mostly) pretty good. And Christmas Carole on Sky Arts with Suranne Jones was superb. Right, enough reflection. Time to live! I have a new internet hub to install...
