Still running

This is a German DB train. but many on our track are run by the private UK company Go-Ahead.

For 3 months this year, from June to August, one could buy a €9 ticket valid for a month to travel on all trains (except the Hi-Speed ICE), trams, buses, undergrounds & even nationalised ferries, anywhere in Germany. It was a huge success & there have been calls to make it a standard offer, although everyone accepts it can't be €9. It is about to be announced, it will be €49 (valid for a full calendar month), but it looks like they can't agree to a start date of 1.1.2023 but likely March or April.

Just imagine being able to travel from Edinburgh to London for a two-week holiday, use the underground in the city, day trips to Brighton & Co, all for £40.
