There but not there

We enjoyed exploring Truro which had a morning after the night before feel. The cathedral was particularly peaceful which is amazing as it hosted a ball last night. Another visitor who was at the ball showed us scarcely believable videos of hundreds of people in evening dress dancing in the nave 12 hours earlier. The only remnant I saw was one Champagne glass on a column base. The ball was to raise funds for the roof renovation- how imaginative!

I love these “there but not there” figures. This one was in front of a memorial of a soldier (whose real name was Tommy) who was killed by a sniper as he was trying to rescue an injured colleague from No Man’s Land near Bethune, France, in 1915.
