Acts of deliberate notice

Hole

Having seen my family for Christmas, it was time to visit D's family for New Year. D's uncle had hired out a converted pub in the Peak District for a family get-together. There are a lot more of D's lot than there are of mine - at least 30 different faces over the five days we were with them. At times it got a little overwhelming but the location could not have been more beautiful. We were in a tiny village on top of a hill overlooking rolling hills for miles around. Great for local walks but also a cosy sort of place to spend rainy days indoors reading and sewing.

I was spoilt for choice as to which photo to pick for today. There was a little square of grass outside and an old quern stone resting in it. Once D had cleared his upside-down face from the other side of the hole, I quickly snapped this picture.
