First Light 2023

But it didn’t herald bad weather. We walked up the Pointe de Bellevue on grass in sunshine and a strong foehn wind. Normally the grassy area in the extra is covered by a couple of metres of snow at this time of the year, part of the Morgins ski area. It was 16 degrees when we set off! Even if we do have a lot of snow soon, it will melt quickly as the ground isn’t frozen. I feel sorry for the people who normally work in the winter and are not able to now. You have to get above 2,500m to find reasonable snow.

Hope you saw the New Year in well, and it brings you joy.

Thanks for your many good wishes on yesterday’s blip as the light went out on 2022. Let’s hope that Ukraine sees the end of this year as the year the war ended.
