North Africa

We've been watching SAS Rogue Heroes - mostly for historical interest. Tim's Grandad spent most of WW2 in North Africa serving with the Desert Rats. Amongst other things, he was part of the support for the Long Range Desert Group (mentioned in episode 3). He would be given coordinates to drive to, in the desert at night, where he would pick up or drop off soldiers for missions behind enemy lines. Given the connections between the Long Range Desert Group and the SAS, it's possible he came across some of the people and places mentioned in the series.

I've created a collage of photos he sent back along with some letters and foreign currency.
