A Roadie

Over breakfast it was decided to do a roadie…..not a big one.  Finally we got away around 10 am heading for Pleasant Point and the railway (of course with all of us it has to be two vehicles).
We all went for a ride on the steam train mainly for Lexi, but it was fun and the destination gave us plenty of neat things to look at before boarding for the return journey.
We then continued on to Fairlie for a pie for lunch.  Not just any old pie, this bakery is famous throughout New Zealand and overseas as well.  The queue was way down the street,  fortunately we that weren’t queuing found two tables outside while we waiting.
That done we went over the hills to Geraldine to another very popular place Barkers cafe and produce shop.  Purchases made.
Continuing on one car load came home (I had lamb roasts to get into the oven) the other car went back to the Bay Carnival for more rides and fun.
I’ve included a collage as extra.
Btw, the lamb roast was delicious, new spuds, silver beat, cauliflower and kumera……followed by brandy snaps.
A rather longer and larger roadie tomorrow.
