Gothic horror?

On this beautiful sunny day two friends and I took a walk over the meadow to Houghton Mill. What caught my eye was the overhang looking worryingly crooked but on the photo the building’s gothic gloom stood out and it seemed to compliment the lively sky. If that’s not a Frankenstein-style lightning strike hitting the roof, then what can it be?!
