Ice Limpet

I shot this in black and white, so it was a surprise when I reverted to the colour version to find the striking blue of the ice. The sky overhead was grey with no directional light, hence I thought monochrome a better choice to bring out shapes and texture. And I did like the b&w version, but the blue adds another dimension.

I'm not sure what created the limpet shape, perhaps a stone sticking up through the ice, but in any rate, I liked the abstract composition.
