Common Enchantments

Flooded

We had a torrential monsoon type rainstorm this morning with thunder and lightning...just at the time that we needed to load up to drive to the physical therapy appointment.   Yes, getting the man with his walker in the car was a wet experience in spite of a giant umbrella.  The closest place to the steps was about 2 inches deep in standing water so that was kind of tricky for him also.

But we made it.   The PT guy said he did great with the exercises that he had Jerry do.   He is supposed to do them himself at home and go back on Friday.

The man did scoot upstairs on his behind last night and then came down this morning...it was not pretty but after he got down he said maybe he should just sleep on the sofa.  It does open into a bed but is not very comfortable but we do have a memory foam pad that might help.  We will see how that goes.  There is always the chair.

This view was just up the road from the house...Hollow Creek which is normally just a trickle in the middle.  This was more water than I have seen in it in a long time....even with the rain we get normally.   Several places along the road to the PT place were flooded and one was really deep as I drove through.  We noticed the police had blocked off that area when we came back along another road.    So glad we don't go anywhere tomorrow which will give the ground time to dry up.

Maybe tomorrow when it dries out I can see what is happening with my car.   Maybe it will mysteriously be all better since it has had a two day rest break!      I did talk to our local mechanic and he is really busy.  He said if we get it there next week, he might be able to do some checking but it would probably be two weeks before he would have it back.   The dealer where I bought the car is scheduling appointments for service that are 2 weeks off.  Not going well here with getting the car looked at.

I think I will make a pie tomorrow.   Pie always makes me happy!!
