Lest we forget

Fraserburgh War Memorial consists of a grey granite pedestal topped by a bronze sculpture depicting ' justice guiding valour'. The names of the dead from WW1 and WW2 are on bronze panels on the pedestal. It is very different from most the memorials found across the North-east.

The bronze designed by Alexander Carrick was cast in Glasgow. The memorial which was unveiled in 1923 is situated at the junction of the South Road at Strichen Road. In 1923 this would have been very close to the entrance to the Broch from the South.
