Memorial

We play badminton on Saturdays, just a short walk from the Marathon Bombings memorial at Copley Square. It's a moving and compelling place, different each time I visit. And it continues to grow.

The variety of objects left as a tribute is fascinating. There are flags (from several countries), banners, candles, an abundance of soft toys, flowers (of course), running shoes, folded paper cranes, religious artifacts, beads, articles of clothing, a whole section dedicated to baseball hats, messages and all sorts of sporting memorabilia. There are football scarves from Liverpool and Everton side-by-side. A single photo cannot really do it all justice.

I'm not sure about the desaturation, maybe it's a cliché, but the bright sunlight just seemed wrong.
