On my bike.

It was a beautiful summer’s evening and with the creek crossing now passable, I decided to hop on the Trojan and head out the back for the first time since the floods to assess the damage and have some fun on the bike.
Some fallen trees but two gully crossings I was concerned about are fine as is the Mitchell’s Creek fire trail shown in the third extra. I reached the Black Billy coal mine (in the main blip with BB himself at a distance in the first extra) and almost to the SW corner of the property but my bike skills were being severely tested.
This was also the scene of the 2019/20 bushfire as seen in the second extra.
For those who are interested, the BB coal mine was a 2or3 man operation for a few years in the 1920s then reopened briefly during WW2 to provide coal for local home heating. It’s situated just over our southern boundary and directly under Billy’s nose. Previously a Crown lease, it’s now in the National Park.
