Delighted by daffodils

Mr. Beewatcher took a different route to the supermarket, so that I could see the newly-flowering daffodils that someone had photographed for facebook.
I wonder if the council gardeners who must have planted them in the grass verge years ago realised just how much happiness they would give an old dear in the second week of 2023 ?
