lift off

Set off around 9am with the car packed to the gills. I think Ziza had the most space in her MASSIVE carrier. She was a bit meow-y for the first half hour and then settled in brilliantly. We stopped every once in a while and made sure she had water, food and that she was relaxed and enjoying the ride - she actually really seemed to!

Just before leaving, I called in to see the Twins who own the newsagent on Ashley Terrace. They are two of the friendliest people I know! Will miss their smiley faces each morning.

Took the road towards Carlisle and then the M6 and M5 down to Axminster. Gorgeous, sunny day and luckily, even though it was Bank Holiday Monday, everyone was coming the OTHER way, so we didn't have much traffic at all! Pierre drove really well, despite being in a right-hand drive on the left-hand side of the road :)

Passed a sign for Cheddar Gorge and had a laugh on Twitter with Carrie and Emma :)

We made it to Axminster around 8pm and went to the Lamb Inn for a pint and to ask directions to our B&B.

Got to the B&B just before 9pm and picnicked on the last of the stuff we had to eat - some bread, ham, tomatoes and oatcakes. It all went brilliantly with lovely cup of tea.

Let Ziza out in the B&B room and she had a big stretch and then just pottered around. So relaxed and happy - brilliant!
