Bridge at Badajoz

Well, that was unexpected.

We went on a quick trip to Villanueva in Spain to buy steel for fencing, but (long story) ended up taking Cecílio and Padre Luís to Badajoz, and eating lunch there at La Esquina. And then to El Faro shopping mall.

They kindly waited while I ran back along the Autonomia bridge to take a photo of the Palmas bridge, which has 32 arches, but decided to crop to just these four. There are four bridges over the Guadiana here at Badajoz (same river that has created our Lake), but this is the oldest, first built in 1460, but almost totally rebuilt several times, either after the river washed it away, or from being blasted by Portuguese cannons.

Gratefuls:
- an unexpected day out with friends
- a couple of interactions with a smiley Eden
- Mike's willing (and safe) driving

A weird thing was finding my photo on this site, see here on my Blip! How did that happen??
