Power to the people.

Apocalyptic weather today with gales, thunder, lightning, hale and sheet rain, combining to set off a chorus of car alarms in town.
This coincided with the replacement of power lines in the area, which caused us to be without electricity for eight hours. Unfortunately the workmen accidentally severed a cable to our house, causing some damage to our house wall. They were apologetic and told us someone will be in touch to make good. I asked if they could reverse into the garden wall as it needs replastering, and luckily he realised it was only meant to make 'light' of the situation. 
They did fantastically well working in such atrocious conditions.
