High Water

Seduced by clear blue skies, we headed for a walk. at Burnham after we dropped Sophie at school for the first time since the end of last term.

The tide was in and, combined with all the rain and a strong breeze, the river was running very high.

By the time we’d had our breakfast at Wetherspoon’s the sky had turned a uniformly dirty grey, the breeze had become a gale and a torrent of icy pins of rain was sweeping across the Bristol Channel; we were soaked by the time we got back to the car.

This afternoon was spent dismantling our old bed frame. We’d advertised it on our local Facebook site (or to be more accurate, Kate had done it for us) and someone phoned at lunchtime, wanting to collect it this afternoon. We were pleasantly surprised that we managed to take it apart without too many problems. Just hope it goes back together as easily!
