And now for some playing...

Today we finally got to play in the snow, rather than just digging it away from doorways, roofs and collapsed tents.
Isaac and Eleanor were out with the kids creating a little sledging slope across the garden.  I came out to join them for a short while but it was half-raining and everything was rather soggy so I made one trip down the slope and decided to wait for colder weather.
Isaac and I built a set of snow steps up to Betty's, which was a good combination of fun and snow-clearing. I was able to look at the newish veranda roof behind Betty's and I wasrelieved to see was mainly clear of snow. When we rebuilt it we steepened the pitch a little and that seems to have been enough to make the snow slide off in these conditions.
Our visiting family seem to be establishing a routine of eat, play, sleep, repeat, for the kids and life is going a little smoother as they get used to being here.
It is so lovely to see them here and have an extended time together!
PS As we walked back from The Red House this evening there was a half moon in the sky and we could see stars in the sky. Could this be a change in the weather?
